The Journey

From multi-sport athlete to collegiate standout and beyond

A Journey of Excellence & Perseverance

Bryson's athletic journey began at just 4 years old, where he established his foundation as a three-sport athlete in football, lacrosse, and wrestling. This early multi-sport approach developed diverse athletic skills and a competitive mindset that would serve him throughout his career. He ended his early part of his career by winning middle school athlete of the year at the prestigious Boys' Latin school.

At Bullis High School in Potomac, Maryland, Bryson emerged as an elite dual-sport talent. On the lacrosse field, he won multiple conference championships, and in 2019 won the GEICO National Championship with the Bulldogs. Shaw achieved individual success as well in lacrosse when he won the Under Armour All-American Tournament MVP before ending his career as a senior All-American, showcasing exceptional speed and field vision. His football prowess was equally impressive, where he was named Defensive Player of the Year in the highly competitive Interstate Athletic Conference multiple years.

Despite being committed to the University of Maryland lacrosse since 8th grade, Bryson made the pivotal decision to switch to football, committing to Ohio State as a junior. This bold choice to follow his passion demonstrated the courage and conviction that would define his athletic career.

Shaw's collegiate journey began at Ohio State University, where his relentless work ethic and disciplined approach quickly established him as a key defensive contributor. Through unwavering dedication, Bryson earned twelve starts for the Buckeyes, developing into a respected leader both on and off the field. During his time with Ohio State, the Buckeyes appeared in two College Football Playoff appearances and added a Rose Bowl win on top of that, where Shaw contributed nine total tackles in the victory.

The path continued at USC, where Bryson's resilience and adaptability shined. Starting thirteen games for the Trojans, he elevated his performance to new heights, earning PAC-12 Player of the Week honors and serving as a multi-game captain—a testament to Shaw's leadership qualities and commitment to excellence.

Throughout this journey, Bryson maintained exceptional academic standards, graduating with two degrees while balancing the intense demands of Division I athletics—proving that with proper guidance and determination, excellence in both athletics and academics is achievable.
